  Um thank you. All protocols observed. The Public Safety Department achieved 23 out of 26 KPIs. That is 88% of KPIs. Now, if you are in school, this 88% would be wonderful. But this is not school. This is Johannesburg, and this is the Public Safety Department. 12% KPIs not achieved.

  JMPD focused on road traffic policing aimed at promoting road safety, enforcing traffic regulations, and reducing road-related risks across Johannesburg. Officers conducted 2,945 roadside checkpoints, 1,858 DUI operations, and 71 roadblocks. This sounds impressive,

  but the glaring problem is that there is no speed prosecution. How can JMPD function and carry out their mandate with a total lack of camera speed prosecution? A total lack. Then again, another glaring recurring habit of a problem remains the over-expenditure on budget.

  The department spent a total of 1.8 billion rand against a budget of 1.74 billion, representing a 58 million rand over-spending. How? If it's a recurring habit, surely this should be addressed at some stage. And then lastly, Madam Speaker, remember, it is our time. Thank you, Madam Speaker.
