5th Special Council Meeting

The 5th Special Council Meeting was held to pay tribute to the late Councillors Amod and Nonkumbi and to officially remove their names from the chamber in the ritual of ukusula igama. Councillors from the DA, ANC, ACDP, ActionSA, AIC, Al Jama-ah, ATM, COPE, EFF, IFP, PA, UIM and FF Plus paid tribute to one or both of the late councillors. The Speaker ended the tributes because of time, called a moment of silence, and the candle was blown out as the names were removed.
